I wish sites would split NSFW into categories though. NSFW content is off by default and even when it's on you have the option to blur it by default. I've never seen a platform properly categorise and gate their content though. In all honesty I don't think any content should be banned, it should just be properly categorised and gated from those who don't want to see it or are too young to see it. What I have more of an issue with is when media portays itself as family friendly or fairly tame and then out of nowhere includes some extremely adult themes.

If people want to explore that content and no one's getting hurt then they should be free to do so. Granted some of them do touch on some very dark subjects and I wouldn't play them myself but they are honest and upfront about the content. I agree most of them should be banned from twitch but I disagree they shouldn't exist.įreedom of expression is a good thing. That is just obviously, obviously not the same thing unless you're actually unhinged. And the mechanics reinforce that fantasy.
#Game grumps genital jousting simulator
Yandere Simulator (which, whatever by the way, I have no feelings one way or another) is by design focused on the fantasy of carrying out murders for sexual reasons - the motivations behind it, the power/domination aspect, and the taking of a life. The mechanics enforce that by punishing you for being destructive or indiscrete - at the end of the day we abstract away the "murder" and treat it as a complicated and dynamic puzzle box, by design, because the goal is not to get off on killing, but to navigate the semi-random obstacles cleanly. Hitman is focused on the fantasy of being a stone cold secret agent, infiltrating invisibly and silently eliminating the world's most protected evildoers. A game isn't a "killing simulator" any time progress is made via mortal conflict, that's like a circa 2000 take on violent games. Yeah it's Agent 47's objective to kill people, but it's also Master Chief's, Samus', Link's, etc. Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art!
